Birthday Card – Mixed Medium

It a great feeling when you’ve been resourceful. I love to utilize my talents and share them.

I used one of my linocut blocks of a bird (of course) and printed it onto fabric, then played with colour thread by zooming around the fabric with the sewing machine. The postage stamps are an interesting element; the “Happy Birthday”worked well for the occasion and the person’s Birthday happens to fall on “Independence Day”, a two in one greeting card.

Blank white drawing paper was stitched onto the artful, fabric  greeting card for a personal message.

About artist and illustrator

I'm a textile artist, resourceful and excited about making things. Dog walks with my pooch "Charlie" is inspiring and an opportunity to develop ideas from nature and people whom we meet on our strolls. There is a story behind my art making, it's in the series, I don't make just one but many from the same idea, but! not one will look like the other, each piece of art is "one-of-a-kind".
