“Finn Throws a Fit!” – Children’s Book review

The illustrations in “Finn Throws a Fit!” are visually entertaining, and inspiring if you’re an expressive artist. Author David Elliott and illustrator Timothy Basil Ering have worked well together in this drama story of Finn and his moods. Words don’t always say it as well as a picture, especially when we can relate it to outrageous weather conditions.

The reason I chose this book during the Halloween Season was for the potential sugar highs the kids may be on from the Halloween candy. Now that I look at the cover, those paint splashes with little Finn and his dog make me smile. An exciting book about mood highs, in between and lows.

It is so amazing how much energy a kid has when making a point, pretty exciting after you realize that you (as a parent) survived it.

Hey! watch this utube clip, the dramatic music adds to the excitement.

I once told my mother how cute the kids were in the preschool that I visited, she said “that’s why we keep ém”. Oh okay. (do you think that she was reflecting on my moods as a child? or my cuteness?)

About artist and illustrator

I'm a textile artist, resourceful and excited about making things. Dog walks with my pooch "Charlie" is inspiring and an opportunity to develop ideas from nature and people whom we meet on our strolls. There is a story behind my art making, it's in the series, I don't make just one but many from the same idea, but! not one will look like the other, each piece of art is "one-of-a-kind".
