Painting with my sister.

Stress, I read that one of many things you can do to relieve the potentially dangerous feeling is to paint. Well! I knew that, so why has it taken me so long to pick up the brush again. Just as a note, a professional artist may have some anxiety in working towards completing a painting. However that wasn’t the case last night.

Not only was last night the first time that I’ve painted this year, it was the first time my sister had ever painted. We met up in a well supplied studio, where my sister had already established the setting; music, colour palette and canvas.

Sister was enthusiastic and in a great mood to express herself through the vibrant paint colours and popular dance music. By the end of this post you’ll see how two sisters can be so different, then same at the same time.

I will gradually take you through my 11X14 inch acrylic painting.

Purple with green is nice. The yellow is making things interesting.

I love colour and the imagination, this was done in 2.5 hours with the music booming and an adventurous sister there to inspire me. Here is my sister and her first painting (it’s a little larger than mine).

About artist and illustrator

I'm a textile artist, resourceful and excited about making things. Dog walks with my pooch "Charlie" is inspiring and an opportunity to develop ideas from nature and people whom we meet on our strolls. There is a story behind my art making, it's in the series, I don't make just one but many from the same idea, but! not one will look like the other, each piece of art is "one-of-a-kind".
