Good Morning Sun’s Up! – Children’s Book Review

Sun’s up-It’s time to play. This book goes way back, I purchased it when I was studying children’s literature in 1982. The cheerful and vibrant colours in the illustrations of this book define the title, then the text is more of an introduction to animals and how they relate to the sunshine. Also, this book is written in both Japanese and English, a lovely way to learn a new language.

Jan 2013_348Hardcover book approximately 9 3/4 square. Jan 2013_345It’s nice to see it again, growls a sleepy polar bear in his hoarse, gruff voice.  Up here in the north we only have sun in the summertime. Hello, sun. I’m glad you’ve come back.

Sun’s up-it’s time to play.

Jan 2013_347Jan 2013_346You might think a peacock would like to sleep late because he is the most elegant of birds. But no, he must get up as early as the rest to preen the feathers of his beautiful tail.

Sun’s up- it’s time to play.

About artist and illustrator

I'm a textile artist, resourceful and excited about making things. Dog walks with my pooch "Charlie" is inspiring and an opportunity to develop ideas from nature and people whom we meet on our strolls. There is a story behind my art making, it's in the series, I don't make just one but many from the same idea, but! not one will look like the other, each piece of art is "one-of-a-kind".
