Linocut Print Framed – Quality Custom Picture Framing

A HEART OF GOLD LINO &  PEACE OF MIND by Susan Fae Haglund

These are my two linocut prints that I’ve added a bit of a twist to. A Heart of Gold is printed with oil based ink, then the gold heart or the top print is water soluble based  ink printed (and aligned) onto velum.Jan 2013_502

Jan 2013_486Jan 2013_504Varied Printing techniques; one layered paper the other two lino blocks printed on the same paper.  Peace of Mind (below) demonstrates two lino blocks on one paper, with two different inks.Jan 2013_503

There are two options in this demonstration on framing a layered print. One is to attach the velum to the Stonehenge paper and the other is to create a space between the bottom  & top print.

Jan 2013_491The print without the spacer between the layers is sharper and easier to read, but then to create that 3D illusion with the spacer between the two prints may soften the writing (title & signature) but pops the PEACE sign and the GOLD HEART. About artist and illustrator

I'm a textile artist, resourceful and excited about making things. Dog walks with my pooch "Charlie" is inspiring and an opportunity to develop ideas from nature and people whom we meet on our strolls. There is a story behind my art making, it's in the series, I don't make just one but many from the same idea, but! not one will look like the other, each piece of art is "one-of-a-kind".
